Synopsis
A naive, awkward country girl takes a job at a desert mineral spa in Southern California and moves into an apartment with a chatty, self-absorbed coworker, with their relationship gradually mutating into an eerie, dreamlike psychological transference of personalities and matriarchal power. Robert Altman's hypnotic, oneiric masterpiece based on a literal dream, starring Shelley Duvall (Cannes Best Actress) and Sissy Spacek.
