Synopsis
The lives of twenty-two Los Angeles residents—waitresses, bakers, jazz singers, television commentators, pool cleaners, and doctors—crisscross across three days against the backdrop of aerial Mediterranean fruit-fly helicopter spraying and an apocalyptic earthquake, uncovering infidelity, death, and random cruelty. Robert Altman's Venice Golden Lion-winning three-hour ensemble tapestry freely adapted from nine Raymond Carver short stories featuring a legendary ensemble cast.
