Gentleman's Agreement

Synopsis

A widowed, Gentile investigative magazine writer in Manhattan agrees to pose as a Jewish man for six months to write a series on anti-Semitism, discovering that overt hostility is far less pervasive than the polite, hypocritical complicity of fashionable New York high society, country clubs, and even his liberal fiancée: 'I was Jewish for six months, and I was furious every day.' Elia Kazan and Moss Hart's triple Academy Award-winning masterpiece (Best Picture, Director, Supporting Actress) starring Gregory Peck, Dorothy McGuire, and Celeste Holm.
