Synopsis

In World War I-era Salinas Valley, California, a rebellious, emotionally starved young man desperately seeks the love and moral approval of his devout lettuce-farming father, who openly favors his compliant twin brother, unearthing secrets about his estranged mother who runs a nearby brothel.
