Bad ma ra khahad bord
Synopsis
A Tehran production crew posing as telecommunications engineers arrives in the remote, tiered Kurdish mountain village of Siah Dareh to secretly film the ancient, week-long funeral rituals of a dying 100-year-old matriarch, but as the old woman lingers on, the impatient engineer spends his days running to an elevated hilltop cemetery to receive cellular phone calls, meditating on poetry by Forough Farrokhzad, a ditch digger, and the fleeting beauty of life. Abbas Kiarostami and Mahmoud Kalari's Venice Grand Special Jury Prize and FIPRESCI-winning summit.
