Synopsis
In a drab, suburban Munich courtyard, a group of bored, aimless young German slackers spend their days sitting on railings, gossiping, and exploiting one another, until the arrival of Jorgos, an innocent Greek guest worker (played by Fassbinder), triggers virulent xenophobia, racist rumors, and a brutal physical beating. Rainer Werner Fassbinder's stark, Brechtian black-and-white breakthrough masterpiece that won five German Film Awards.
