Synopsis
Made in the immediate aftermath of his lover Armin Meier's suicide, Fassbinder traces the final five agonizing days in the life of Elvira, a transgender woman in Frankfurt wandering between a former lover who rejects her, an abusive slaughterhouse owner who once provoked her transition, and the nun who raised her in an orphanage. Rainer Werner Fassbinder's rawest, most emotionally devastating masterpiece featuring Volker Spengler's unforgettable performance.
