Germany Year Zero
Germania anno zero
Synopsis
In the pulverized, rubble-strewn ruins of post-war Berlin in 1947, a 12-year-old German boy scrounges for food to support his ailing father and black-market siblings, tragically poisoned by the social Darwinist ideology whispered by his former Nazi schoolmaster into poisoning his father before leaping to his death from a bombed building. Roberto Rossellini's Locarno Grand Prix-winning culmination of his war trilogy.
