Synopsis
In Nazi-occupied Milan during the winter of 1944, an opportunistic con man and gambler who extorts money from families of Italian political prisoners is arrested by the Gestapo and coerced into posing inside San Vittore prison as a legendary anti-fascist Partisan general to unmask resistance leaders, gradually embodying the true nobility and heroism of his persona unto the firing squad.
