Synopsis
A modest factory supply clerk in a provincial Polish town buys an 8mm movie camera to record the birth and early days of his newborn daughter, but is commissioned by the factory director to film the company's 25th jubilee, awakening an all-consuming passion for cinema and truth that wins festival awards while unintentionally exposing corruption and destroying his domestic marriage: in the famous final shot, he turns the camera lens around on himself. Krzysztof Kieślowski's Moscow Golden Prize and Berlin FIPRESCI-winning meta-cinematic masterpiece starring Jerzy Stuhr.
