Synopsis
In a bleak, greenish-yellow Warsaw, an alienated 20-year-old drifter brutally and senselessly strangles a taxi driver with a rope, followed by his trial and the clinical, methodical state-sponsored execution by hanging despite his idealistic young defense lawyer's anguish. Krzysztof Kieślowski's Cannes Jury Prize-winning masterpiece expanding Decalogue V on 'Thou shalt not kill'.
