Blind Chance

Synopsis

A medical student runs desperately through the Łódź railway station to catch the train to Warsaw, splitting his life into three possible alternate destinies depending on whether he catches the train: in the first, he catches it and becomes an idealistic Communist Party official; in the second, he collides with a guard, is arrested, and joins the underground anti-communist resistance; in the third, he misses it, marries, and lives a quiet, apolitical bourgeois life as a doctor until fate intervenes. Krzysztof Kieślowski's brilliant philosophical masterpiece that directly inspired Sliding Doors and Run Lola Run.
