Synopsis
Left to die without water in the Arizona desert by two treacherous prospecting partners, an illiterate prospector stumbles upon a miraculous natural mudhole spring on a stagecoach route, building a thriving rest stop called Cable Springs, falling in love with a kind-hearted saloon prostitute, and waiting for his betrayers to return, only to be run over by the arrival of the modern automobile. Sam Peckinpah's lyrical, tender, and deeply personal comic Western starring Jason Robards, Stella Stevens, and David Warner.
