Synopsis

In a crowded German POW barracks during World War II, two American escapees are shot dead outside the fence, prompting the prisoners to suspect that their cynical, self-serving barrack racketeer is an undercover German stool pigeon. Billy Wilder's razor-sharp, suspenseful tragicomedy that won William Holden the Best Actor Oscar.
