Synopsis
When an estate agent in a southern French town is framed for the double murder of his unfaithful wife and her lover, he hides out in his office while his fiercely devoted, trench-coated secretary turns amateur private eye to unmask the real syndicate killer across shady nightclubs and cinemas. François Truffaut's playful, sparkling final film—a crisp black-and-white screwball noir homage to Howard Hawks and Alfred Hitchcock starring Fanny Ardant and Jean-Louis Trintignant.
