Synopsis
In 1884 Victorian London, following the catastrophic critical failure of Princess Ida, the famous Victorian comic opera partnership of Arthur Sullivan and W.S. Gilbert faces creative collapse, until Gilbert visits an exotic Japanese exhibition in Knightsbridge and conceives The Mikado, embarking on an arduous, obsessive backstage rehearsal process to achieve theatrical perfection.
