Synopsis
An eccentric British research chemist invents a revolutionary, luminous white fabric that never gets dirty, never wears out, and cannot be torn, only to find himself hunted through the cobbled streets by both textile mill owners terrified of bankruptcy and trade unions terrified of unemployment. Alexander Mackendrick's Oscar-nominated satirical Ealing comedy starring Alec Guinness and Joan Greenwood.
