Synopsis

During a 14th-century civil war, two women survive in a marsh of towering susuki grass by ambushing wounded samurai, stripping their armor to trade for millet. When a demon mask becomes glued to the older woman's flesh, jealousy sparks terror. Kaneto Shindo's primal, erotic folk horror masterwork.
