Synopsis

A pure-hearted, smiling foundling orphan named Totò organizes a joyful shantytown community for the homeless on the outskirts of industrial Milan, gifted a magical dove by his deceased fairy godmother to grant the poor's whimsical wishes when a rapacious land baron tries to evict them. Vittorio De Sica and Cesare Zavattini's Cannes Palme d'Or-winning fantasy neorealist fable.
