Synopsis
In an impoverished Yorkshire coal-mining town, a bullied, neglected fifteen-year-old schoolboy from a broken home steals a young kestrel falcon from a nest on a ruined farm wall, patiently training the bird according to a library falconry manual and finding a brief, soaring spiritual flight of pride before local cruelty strikes. Ken Loach and Barry Hines' BAFTA-winning British kitchen-sink realism masterpiece starring David Bradley.
