Synopsis

An aging, pardoned bank robber is hired to lead an armed resort jewel heist in California, bonding with a loyal dance-hall girl and a crippled farm dog before a police manhunt corners him atop Mount Whitney. Raoul Walsh and John Huston's poignant bridge from the 1930s gangster cycle to 1940s film noir, starring Humphrey Bogart and Ida Lupino.
