Synopsis
In 1945 Leyte, an isolated, tubercular Japanese soldier abandoned by his hospital unit wanders the muddy jungle amid starving, demoralized stragglers hunted by American troops and Filipino guerrillas, descending into feverish madness and the ultimate taboo of cannibalism.
