Synopsis
Twenty-nine years after exterminating the legendary cangaço bandit outlaws of the Brazilian Northeast sertão, the aging, black-caped bounty hunter Antônio das Mortes is summoned by a blind landlord to assassinate Coirana, a new cangaceiro inspiring a messianic peasant revolution in the drought-stricken village of Jardim das Piranhas, leading to an epiphany where the hunter turns his rifle against the ruling oligarchy.
