Synopsis
An expatriate American World War II veteran stays in Paris to paint, falling for an innocent French shopgirl who is engaged to his cabaret singer friend, while supported by a wealthy American heiress patron. Vincente Minnelli and Gene Kelly's six-time Oscar-winning Gershwin musical spectacle culminating in a 17-minute continuous ballet inspired by French impressionist painters.
