Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore

Synopsis

When her emotionally abusive truck-driver husband is killed in a traffic accident in New Mexico, a 35-year-old widow packs up her station wagon with her smart-aleck 11-year-old son to drive to Monterey, California, to restart her teenage singing career, running out of money in Tucson and working as a hash-slinging diner waitress while falling for an understanding local rancher. Martin Scorsese's warm, energetic feminist road melodrama starring Ellen Burstyn (Oscar Best Actress) and Kris Kristofferson.
