Synopsis
A young man arrives in the sleepy, sun-drenched Po Valley town of Tara at the request of his father's former mistress to investigate the 1936 unsolved assassination of his father, a revered anti-fascist hero with a grand public monument, uncovering an elaborate theatrical web of anti-fascist staging, treason, and Verdi's Rigoletto where historical myth obscures betrayal. Bernardo Bertolucci and Vittorio Storaro's hypnotic Jorge Luis Borges adaptation starring Giulio Brogi.
