Synopsis
In industrial Osaka, an earnest, hardworking underground 8mm blue-movie producer who considers himself a benevolent social servant providing release for frustrated human desires lives with his widowed landlady and her children, gradually losing control of his syndicate while building an elaborate, lifelike silicone love doll as his philosophical summit. Shohei Imamura's darkly comic anthropological satire adapted from Akiyuki Nosaka.
