Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring

Synopsis

On a serene wooden Buddhist hermitage floating on an isolated mountain lake surrounded by peaks, an elderly master guides an orphan boy through the seasons of life: youthful cruelty to animals, turbulent adolescent sexual awakening with a sick girl, adult jealousy leading to murder and police repentance, and monastic redemption carrying a stone up the mountain. Kim Ki-duk's serene, spiritual masterpiece featuring Kim Ki-duk himself as the adult monk.
