Ratcatcher

Synopsis

During the sweltering 1973 Glasgow garbage strike where rat-infested rubbish piles line public housing tenements, a sensitive 12-year-old boy carries the secret guilt of accidentally drowning his friend in a murky canal, finding escape by riding a bus to the end of the line to daydream inside an unfinished suburban housing estate with golden wheat fields framed by glassless windows.
