Synopsis

An impoverished, wandering coal miner and his young son arrive in an eerie, deserted Kyushu mining town looking for work, where the father is suddenly stabbed to death by an enigmatic assassin in a spotless white suit, lingering as a bewildered ghost who watches the corrupt union bosses, police, and witnesses frame an innocent rival while ghosts accumulate on the slag heaps. Hiroshi Teshigahara and Kobo Abe's surrealist, political avant-garde murder mystery.
