Synopsis
In late-1950s Sweden, a mischievous, imaginative 12-year-old boy named Ingemar, constantly comparing his tribulations to Laika the Soviet space dog sent to die in orbit, is sent away by his terminally ill mother to stay with his eccentric uncle in a quirky glassworks village, finding solace in soccer, boxing against a tomboy girl, and eccentric village elders who read sea-adventure stories. Lasse Hallström and Reidar Jönsson's double Oscar-nominated and Golden Globe-winning coming-of-age classic starring Anton Glanzelius.
