Marketa Lazarová
Synopsis
In the brutal, snowy Bohemian forests of the 13th century where pagan rituals clash violently with nascent Christianity, a clan of ruthless brigand robber knights abducts an innocent maiden destined for a convent, dragging her through bloody royal sieges, wolf packs, and mad outlaws. František Vláčil's monumental, visceral pagan medieval masterpiece voted by Czech film critics as the greatest Czech film of all time.
