Synopsis
Two illegitimate Greek children—a 12-year-old girl and her 5-year-old brother—run away from home and board a train to Germany in search of a mythical father they have never met, wandering across a bleak, poetic winter landscape of highway trucks, traveling actors, and border snowdrifts. Theodoros Angelopoulos' Venice Silver Lion-winning lyrical masterpiece.
