Synopsis
Inside a claustrophobic, dark prison cell in a Latin American military dictatorship, two disparate prisoners—a flamboyant, romantic homosexual window dresser jailed for corrupting a minor and a tortured, stoic Marxist revolutionary political dissident—form a profound, transformative bond as the window dresser recounts escapist plots of glamorous 1940s Nazi propaganda melodramas. Héctor Babenco and Manuel Puig's four-time Oscar-nominated masterpiece starring William Hurt (Oscar Best Actor and Cannes Best Actor) and Raúl Juliá.
