Synopsis
To the bankrupt, drought-stricken Senegalese desert town of Colobane arrives Linguère Ramatou, a former resident who was banished pregnant and penniless thirty years earlier and has now returned as the richest woman in the world, offering the starving citizens an astronomical fortune of one hundred billion CFA francs on one condition: that they execute her former lover Dramaan Drameh who abandoned and framed her in court. Djibril Diop Mambéty's Cannes-competing satirical masterpiece adapted from Friedrich Dürrenmatt's The Visit.
