Synopsis
A prosperous Austrian family arrives at their lakeside vacation home and is taken hostage by two polite, white-gloved young psychotic men who place a bet that the family will not be alive by 9:00 AM, constantly breaking the fourth wall to implicate the spectator in the voyeuristic consumption of screen violence. Michael Haneke's shocking, radical deconstruction of media violence and cinematic complicity.
