Synopsis
When an ethnic Korean youth survives his execution by hanging at a Japanese prison and wakes up with total amnesia, the bewildered prison officials, doctor, and prosecutor absurdly attempt to reenact his crimes to restore his guilt so they can legally hang him again. Nagisa Ōshima's incendiary, Brechtian absurdist dark satire on capital punishment and anti-Korean racism.
