Synopsis
In a desolate, rain-soaked Hungarian mining town where industrial coal buckets glide eternally on overhead cableways through mud, a morose, alcoholic loner spends his evenings at the Titanik Bar listening to a married lounge singer, orchestrating a smuggling job for her husband to lure her into an adulterous affair, only to betray the lovers to the police when rejected. Béla Tarr and László Krasznahorkai's breakthrough masterpiece celebrated for its hypnotic, slow-moving widescreen tracking shots through rain, dogs, and mud.
