Celine and Julie Go Boating

Synopsis

A quiet Montmartre librarian meets an eccentric stage magician in a park after she drops her sunglasses and scarf, with the two women moving in together and sucking on magical candies to enter a mysterious, spectral haunted house where a Victorian melodrama of poison and jealousy repeats on an eternal theatrical loop. Jacques Rivette's playful, three-hour feminist surrealist adventure that won the Locarno Special Jury Prize.
