Burn!
Queimada
Synopsis
In the 1840s, an aristocratic British agent provocateur arrives on the fictitious Caribbean island of Queimada to instigate a slave revolt against Portuguese colonial rule on behalf of British sugar interests, returning ten years later as a mercenary commander to brutally burn the sugarcane plantations and exterminate the very revolutionary leader he created when his independence threatens British capital. Gillo Pontecorvo's anti-imperialist political thriller starring Marlon Brando (who considered it his finest performance) with Ennio Morricone's choral score.
